At Cape Cod Carpentry Guild Inc., we successfully restored a historic barn in Wareham, originally built in 1670. This project took us on a journey through history as we carefully brought this remarkable structure back to life. Our team focused on preserving the barn's rich heritage while ensuring it met modern standards and safety requirements.

One of the primary tasks involved was replacing the siding. We meticulously matched the original shingle style, preserving the authentic appearance of the barn. In addition to the siding, we paid special attention to the trim-work, using our expertise to address areas affected by rot. Our commitment to detail ensured the barn retained its historical charm while being safeguarded against future wear.

Windows were another critical aspect of the restoration. We installed new windows that not only enhanced the barn’s original design but also provided improved energy efficiency and longevity. A particularly unique aspect of this project was crafting custom barn doors. We accomplished this by refurbishing and re-using the barn's original hardware. This allowed us to maintain a piece of the barn’s history while providing functional and sturdy closures.

Interior restoration posed its own set of challenges. The interior structure demanded expert attention to restore stability and maintain historical accuracy. Our team undertook extensive rot repair on wooden beams, carefully preserving the barn's traditional appearance.

This restoration project in Wareham reflects our deep commitment to preserving historic structures with skill and respect. At Cape Cod Carpentry Guild Inc., each project is a testament to our expertise in blending historical reverence with modern craftsmanship.
