If you live near the beach, you already know the problem. Sand everywhere, wet towels dragging through the house, nobody wanting to track the outside inside. An outdoor shower solves all of that - but only if it's built right. This one was built right.

We used Garapa for the decking, and if you're not familiar with it, here's why it matters. Garapa is a dense Brazilian hardwood that holds up exceptionally well in wet, high-use environments. It's naturally resistant to rot and insects, and it develops a beautiful aged character over time without falling apart. For a coastal property, it's one of the smartest material choices you can make.

The shower enclosure itself was custom-built from the ground up. The framing, the door, the built-in bench - everything was designed and constructed by our crew. The black iron hardware was chosen to complement the cedar shingle exterior of the home, and the detail work on the door - the hinges, the latch, the hook hardware - shows the kind of attention that separates a quality build from something that just gets the job done. Inside, there's a bench with a contrasting darker wood inlay strip, and hooks along the walls for towels and gear. It's functional in every way.

What we really focused on here was making sure the whole thing felt like a natural extension of the house - not an afterthought tacked onto the backyard. The deck platform ties into the existing brick pathway, the wood tones work with the shingles, and the open-top pergola framing keeps it feeling airy rather than boxed in. It all fits together.

This is the kind of exterior renovation work we genuinely enjoy. It combines real carpentry with thoughtful design, and the end result is something the homeowner will use every single day. If you've been thinking about adding an outdoor shower, a deck, or any kind of custom exterior feature to your home, this is the kind of craftsmanship we bring to every job.
